Roger Wehrhahn, Shihan

Roger Wehrhahn began training in karate-do in 1969 and Okinawan kobudo in the mid 70's. Around 1980, he began studying Japanese sword arts, first training in Mugai Ryu. Since 1984, he has been studying Muso Shinden-ryu iaido. In the summer of 1984, he attended a series of seminars taught by Mitsuzuki Takeshi Sensei who invited all attendees to come to Japan to train with him. Later that year, he was the only one that traveled to Japan to study further with Mitsuzuka Sensei. He currently holds the position of chief instructor of the San Shin Kai.

Wehrhahn Shihan holds the rank of 6th dan in Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido and is currently the chief instructor for the North American San Shin Kai, USA. He also holds the rank of 7th dan, Kyoshi in Okinawan Goju ryu Karate, as well as high dan rankings in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate and Ryukyu Kobudo (Ancient Okinawan weapons). Other arts he has also studied include Kyokushin Kai Karate Do, Moo Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do, aiki-jujutsu and Hakko Ryu Ju Jutsu..
